Why is Dutasteride Prescribed? (Indications)

This medication is a 5-alpha-reductase inhibitor, prescribed for an enlarged prostate treatment. It blocks the production of a natural substance that enlarges the prostate and reduces the need for surgery. 

When should Dutasteride not to be taken? (Contraindications)

Contraindicated in patients with severe liver impairment; pregnant women, children, adolescent.

What is the dosage of Dutasteride?

Adult: PO- 500 mcg daily (treatment for 6 month may be required before benefit is obtained).

How should Dutasteride be taken?

It comes as a capsule to take by mouth, with or without food.

What are the warnings and precautions for Dutasteride?

Dear Sir,

whether this drug-dutasteride-0.5mg, has any adverse effect on Vision on prolonged usage along with siodosin-8mg capsule/day.
I am a NA Glaucoma patient having no eye drops for controlling IOP after laser/cataracts' surgery.
Please indicate as no information is available.
I do take Amlodipine-2.5mg & Atenolol 25mg,each in the morning for BP control
