This medication is an antitussive, prescribed for asthma and Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD).
Adult: PO- The recommended dose is up to 1,200 mg/day.
It comes as a tablet and syrup to take by mouth, with or without food.
Caution is required in patients suffering from
• Kidney or liver disease
• Hypoxemia (low level of oxygen in blood)
• Cardiac arythmias
• History of peptic ulcer
Paroxysmal spasm and heart rhythm disorder.
• Patients are advised not to take foods rich in caffeine.
• If symptoms such as tremor or fluctuations in heartbeat worsens, consult the physician.
Store the medication as directed by your physician.
