This medication is a proton pump inhibitor, prescribed for esophagitis and heartburn due to gastro-esophageal reflux disease (GERD). It decreases the amount of stomach acid.

When should Dexlansoprazole not be taken? (Contraindications)

Hypersensitivity.

What is the dosage of Dexlansoprazole?

Heartburn- The recommended dose is 30 mg once daily for four weeks.
Esophagitis- The recommended dose is 60 mg once daily up to 8 weeks.

It comes as a capsule to take by mouth either with food or on an empty stomach.
