This medication is an anti-diarrheal indicated for the symptomatic relief of non-infectious diarrhea in adult patients with HIV/AIDS on anti-retroviral therapy.
Adult- PO- The recommended dose is 125mg two times per day.
It comes as a tablet to take by mouth, with or without food.
• Caution needed for children, pregnant and breastfeeding women.
• Before starting this medication infectious etiologies should be ruled out.
• Most Common :
Upper respiratory tract infection, lung inflammation, cough, flatulence and increased bilirubin levels.
• Miscellaneous : Nausea, back pain, joint pain, urinary tract infection, throat inflammation, musculoskeletal pain, anxiety, abdominal distension.
Avoid excess dosage.
Store at 20°C-25°C.
