Why is Artesunate Prescribed? (Indications)

This medication is an antimalarial agent, prescribed for malaria.

When should Artesunate not be taken? (Contraindications)

Hypersensitivity.

What is the dosage of Artesunate?

Adult: IV/IM Initial: 2.4 mg/kg. Repeat 12 hr and 24 hr later, then once daily thereafter.
