Test : Thyroid antimicrosomal antibody

Indications : Hypothyroidism

Physiology : Antibodies to thyroid microsomes are generally present in majority of thyroid patients.Passive haemagglutination test is performed

Normal Range : < 1:100

Interpretation : Increased hemagglutinating titre indicates thyroiditis

I am on Thyroxine for last 3 years but my anti microsomal antibodies after becoming negative after a year have started to increase over the last six months, though i am regularly taking thyroxine 25 mg OD and clinically I am asymptomatic.
