Both the methods can draw criticism if not practiced by experts. Individuals practice holistic healing methods and so they canít be without varied emotions, interpretations and experiences. Every day new theories, symbols and names are added to the existing practices.

None can dispute anotherís claim and experience. Though Dr.Usuiís Reiki is the oldest, recognized method, many additions have come in to existence. All of them have their own followers and believers. Karuna Reiki is one such example.

Usui Reiki2 symbols are three but for some there are twelve symbols. Variations and disputes are present in the field of Reiki but Pranic Healing is more regularized and streamlined. Both create positive energies and so never work negatively.

Reiki does not deplete the energy of a healer, as he is only a medium to direct the cosmic energy towards the person getting healed. Reiki has itís own intelligence. Even if we donít know which part of the body needs supplement of energy, it acts on itís own and flows to the part that needs it the most. Intuition plays a major role in Reiki.

It is the intention of a Reiki healer, which is important. Once that is stated Reiki energy flows automatically, even without focusing. These concepts have no place in Pranic Healing.

Concepts and principles may vary but both have a place of their own. Adapting to one of the practices can immensely benefit mankind.

Most doctors do not believe in these natural healing methods and their thinking often is blinkered. A lot needs to be done and good scientific studies need to be carried out before Reiki and Pranic healing methods find their legitimate place as natural forms of healing science.
