Yogic postures should be avoided during menstruation that is accompanied by fatigue and excessive bleeding. Yogic experts recommend that head and shoulder stands or inversions be avoided during the menstrual cycle. The practice of asanas that squeeze the abdominal region should also be avoided to prevent any hindrance to the natural flow of blood, as it can lead to fibroids, cysts, and even cancer.

During menstruation, the female body cleanses itself, therefore it is best to reduce the physical activity and include rest and relaxation.
