E 4

Passengers, who fear to fly, can exhibit physiological or psychological symptoms. The former includes,
• Increased heart rate
• Labored breathing
• Muscle tremors
• Discomfort in the stomach
• Excessive sweating
• Dizziness
• Dry mouth

Psychological symptoms maybe,
  • Inability to focus
  • Memory lapses
  • Negative thoughts
  • Pessimism
  • Feeling of being trapped
Passengers who are medically ‘down’ such as those with cardiovascular problems, diabetes, recent surgery or others may also fear flying. Knowing of or having earlier experienced ‘air travel related illnesses’ like earaches, deep vein thrombosis, dehydration or motion sickness, can cause additional anxiety in such passengers due to board a flight.
