Glossary

Conjunctiva: Membrane lining the front of the eyeball except the cornea and the inner surface of the eyelids

Laser resurfacing: Procedure where irregular skin is smoothened out using laser

Chemical peels: Chemicals to remove superficial cells of skin and thereby smoothen the skin

Lacrimal gland: Gland just above the eye that produces tears

Adhesions: The sticking together of tissues of the body following trauma

Autologous fat transfer: A procedure where fat from one part of the body is transferred to another

Lateral canthal resuspension: Procedure on the outer corner of the eye to treat laxity of the lower eyelid
