You can resume a normal diet as soon as the doctor advises. Your diet should be balanced and nutritious with plenty of fruits and vegetables to ais faster recovery.

Drink plenty of fluids and stay hydrated. Food and supplements rich in antioxidants and calcium and vitamin D are recommended for fast healing and strengthening the bones. Foods rich in zinc such as seafoods and almonds also promote faster wound healing

6. When can I resume sports activities?

It may take several months to return to sports activities. You have to consult your surgeon for more advice.

7. How long do I need to use crutches and brace after the surgery?

You may have to use crutches for about 10 days following surgery. Braces are required for a few weeks to provide stability to the joint while it recovers.

8. What is the outlook regarding return to pre injury sports activities?

Most persons are able to go back to their previous level of sports related activities in a few months.

9. What is the cost of knee ligament repair surgery?

In the US, UK and Australia, the cost ranges between US $ 12,000-22,000.

Costs vary between centers and you need to ask your doctor. In India, it costs between Rs.60,000 – 100,000.
