Domestic violence or partner abuse is used to describe an intentional attempt when one person uses force to inflict a physical or emotional injury. Domestic violence is a growing public health problem as it occurs among people of all ages, gender, and race irrespective of their educational and socioeconomic status. Although domestic violence can occur between brothers/sisters, parents and children, spouses and partners or grandparents and children, women are the worst affected. Instances of slapping, kicking, dragging or beating up, throwing objects in a way that could hurt, attempts to push, choke or burn on purpose, using of gun, knife or other weapons to threaten the female partner as forms of physical abuse. Sexual violence can range from sexual intercourse against will, having sexual intercourse prompted by fear of response by the male, and being forced to a sexual act that a woman regards as degrading or humiliating.
