The National Insurance company at Kolkata have dared to refuse to sell my parents the insurance, advising them that they should not waste their money on Insurance , rather save it and use it when they are sick....Can you believe this ???? And this is told by the Branch Manager... They have kept my father waiting for an entire day and at the end have told these words after offering him tea in his cabin. These thugs try to bypass the law by this method...Harassing Senior Citizens till they get frustrated.....

There needs to be uniformity bet companies in case of senior citizens mediclaims. claims should be processed easier faster and more transparently for senior citizens covered by any policy. Parent cos should themselves handle senior citizens claim settling processes, renewals rather than TPA's. There are many senior citizens who donot have any help to do the running about, they are themselves not in a position physically to do all themselves.Getting claims settled in India is a Herculean task, even for agents, or common man.

I fully agree with. I AM senior citizen and when I have submitted a re-imbursement claim, they have taken the help of TPA to settlethe claim and they have rejectd my claim on the grounds 24 months are not; completed to accept the pre-existing disease.I have to approach IRDA and file a case in Consumer forum.
