Soy Allergy

Soy is a product of soybean. This allergic reaction is common in children and starts showing up as early as they are put on their soy based milk formula.

Although, most children outgrow this allergy by the age of three but in some it lasts forever. People suffering with soy allergy should avoid tofu, soy sauce, soy nuts, soy milk, and soy flour.

Cross Reaction: Soy allergy can have cross reaction with birch pollen and at times with other legumes, especially peanuts.

Other Names: Soya, Soybeans, and Glycine Max.

Hidden Sources: Hydrolyzed Vegetable Protein (HVP), Lecithin, Monodiglyceride, Monosodium Glutamate (MSG), Vegetable Oil, Natural Flavoring, Vegetable Broth, Vegetable Gum, Vegetable Starch, and Asian Cuisine Flavoring.
