Diagnosis of Tonsillitis

Diagnosis is made on the basis of clinical symptoms.

Inspection of the mouth and throat shows enlarged, visible tonsils. They are usually reddened and may have white spots on them. The lymph nodes of the jaw and neck may be enlarged and tender to touch. A culture of the tonsils maybe taken to identify bacterial infection.

That's not very helpful. Should I be sleeping all day? Can I go out and party till 6am? Should I eat or starve? What should I eat?

Of course you can party, not just till 6am, in fact find a rave near by and pull an all-nighter. And don't eat any thing, skip water all together. You need to starve the virus, and kill the bacteria from thirst.
