Prescription glasses: First of all, the eyes are checked to see if they have any refractive error that may be responsible for squint. If there is any significant refractive error present, it is treated first with glasses. Glasses with prisms are usually useful for correcting small deviations. Eye patches: If one eye is substantially weaker than the other, the child may be treated with an eye patch. The patch is worn over the stronger eye so the weaker eye starts to develop. Eye muscle exercises may be helpful in treating special types of eye misalignment, while reading or other near work. Surgery: The squint is treated by surgery . A tight muscle is surgically loosened by moving the muscle back on the eye. A weak muscle is strengthened by removing a small segment of the muscle to shorten it. Depending on the severity of the strabismus, surgery may involve the straight eye, the misaligned eye, or both. |

Thanks in advance,
