The circadian rhythm disorder related to the sleep-wake cycle can be categorized into the following two main groups: 1. Primary Circadian Rhythm Sleep Disorders In these sleep disorders the loss of rhythm is not due to any known reason. Here the changes in rhythm become an established pattern. The different patterns are: a. Delayed Circadian Rhythm Disorder (DCR) b. Advanced Circadian Rhythm Disorder (ACR) c. Bimodal Circadian Rhythm Disorder (BCR) or Irregular Sleep/Wake Cycle d. Non 24-hour Sleep/Wake Cycle (or Free-running Circadian Rhythm Disorder). 2. Secondary Circadian Rhythm Sleep Disorders In these disorders there is a visible cause for the shift in circadian rhythms like: a. Jet lag b. Illness c. Shift working |

Posted on: 02/24/2009 I have delayed sleep phase syndrome (fall asleep around 3am)and wonder what jobs others with same problem have as I can no longer do the 9-5 office thing...its killing me! Love to get some ideas about alternate industries...thanks so much!
