1. Which doctors treat septicemia?

Physicians or infectious disease specialists treat septicemia.

2. Septicemia the same as bacteremia?

Bacteremia is a condition where bacteria are present in the blood, but the patient does not suffer from any symptoms.  If the patient progresses and suffers from symptoms, he is said to be suffering from septicemia.

3. Why are people with diabetes at an increased risk for developing sepsis?

People with diabetes are at an increased risk for suffering from infection due to multiple reasons. Diabetics have decreased immunity.  The high blood sugar levels favor the growth of bacteria.  In addition, reduced blood supply to the peripheral organs such as feet increases the chances of infection.

can blood infection cause severe headaches, musles very painful, feels like has been kicked and badly bruised. leg has lump in it and goes black. My husband has autoimmue problems to.

I am post hospitalization about 4 weeks. I have a problem with how I feel and forgetting. I am in a fog quite a bit and cannot do some of the things I have always done. ill this go away?
