Glossary

Aorta: The aorta is the main artery in the body that supplies blood from the heart to different parts of the body, including the abdomen.

Ventricle: Ventricles are the lower chambers of the heart. There are 2 ventricles, the left and the right ventricles.

Aneurysm: There is swelling of a blood vessel due to defects in the arterial wall or weakness in the wall. Aneurysms are of 2 types: abdominal aortic aneurysm and thoracic aortic aneurysm.

Aortic stenosis: In this condition, there is a narrowing of the opening of the aortic valve.
