When your doctor rules out a serious cause for your palpitations, you need not worry about the rare episodes. But sudden changes or increase in the frequency should be brought to your doctor’s notice. Seek immediate medical attention, if you have chest pain, dizzy or close to fainting. Life style changes can help reducing palpitations too.

 Reduce anxiety and stress. This can reduce the intensity or frequency of your palpitations. Deep breathing relaxes your body.

 Reduce the risk factors of heart disease that can induce arrhythmias.

 Eat a low fat, well balanced diet.

 Reduce or quit smoking.

 Exercise on a regular basis.

 Avoid or reduce caffeine intake.

 Avoid or reduce alcohol.

 Avoid using any illicit drugs.

 Check the ingredients in the herbal medicines and supplements you are taking. Discuss with your doctor if it contains caffeine or substances that can induce palpitations. Quit it if necessary.

SA node is in Rt Atrium and not in Lt atrium as stated in your web page.

There is a mistake in the above article.Bradycardia is when the heart rate is less than 60 beats per minute.
