My daughter was diagnosed to have fibroadenosis following a small lump in breast. It was surgically removed and biopsy showed fibroadenoma. Could a better diagnostic method could have avoided surgery and was it unnecessary as even fibro adenoma can followed up as she is only 20 years old????

i also had a lump in my right breast though not painful.when i consulted the doctor he replied and explained about fibroadenosis for which FNAC test was conducted.he further said it is not abnormal till it projects out and it looks ugly.in that case a minor operation can be done.

One week before my 18 birthday I realized that I had a pain in my breast which was unusal to those I experienced with my period. Within the last two days I observed a swelling in the left breast along with a constant lancing throughout the day. I visited my doctor who told me that the right breast was very soft but the left one was a bit lumpy. He went on to explin that I had a condition called Fibroadenosis and that it will be only experienced during, before or after my menstrual cycle. I am still concerned, can you tell me any thing more?

Please dont worry , i have had these Lumps for over 22 years and every time i get them i question is it them or something else. my doctor is brilaiant and will reassure me and examine me just to put my mind at ease. the pain is excrutiation and she has told me that they go when you go through the menopause. i was 21 when i firs got them. the only good thing is i actually look as if i have a good chest, i find no pain relief helps. hope this is benefical to you.
