Hyperventilation - Symptoms


Symptoms

Symptoms of hyperventilation usually lasts for 15 to 30 minutes. Hyperventilation can cause the following symptoms although it is not mandatory that all of them occur.

  • Numbness / tingling in the lips, hands and feet
  • Lightheadedness / feeling faint / dizziness
  • Headache
  • Chest pain
  • Slurred speech
  • Loss of conciousness

People with hyperventilation syndrome suffer from chest, stomach, nervous system and emotional complaints.

The abdominal complaints include-

  • BloatingĀ 
  • Burping
  • Passing excess gas
  • Feeling of pressure in the abdominal region
