Some of the common causes of hyperventilation include- • Stress / anxiety (hyperventilation syndrome) • Taking many deep breaths • Deep, rapid breathing • Chest tightness/chest pain • Lung diseases • Stroke • Head injury • Metabolic acidosis (hyperventilation is compensatory) • Excessive eating combined with lack of proper exercises • Keeping oneself overtly warmLife-threatening conditions that are associated with deep breathing are: • Liver disorders • Drug reactions • Poisons • Infections • Pregnancy Labor |
