Glossary

Ischemia: Inadequate or insufficient supply of blood to an organ or part of the body

Amputation: This procedure is used to cut off all or part of a limb or projecting part of a body mainly by surgery

Venous hypertension: High blood pressure inside a vein

Fascia: Band of connective tissue that separates or holds together different organs or muscles

Paraesthesia: Abnormal skin sensation such as tingling, burning, prickling mainly caused by damage to peripheral nerves

Tendonitis: Inflammation or irritation of the tendons

Orthotics: Branch of medical science that deals with making and fitting of orthotic devices used to correct an orthopedic problem
