Inadequate diet intake

Iron loss due heavy menstrual bleeding

Previous pregnancy

Poor absorption- only 10% is absorbed normally.

Continuous loss of blood in conditions like hookworm infection or malaria


Iron and Folate Deficiency Anemia in Pregnancy

Increased iron demand during pregnancy -

Fetus and placenta 300mg
Maternal Hb mass expansion 500mg
Loss in urine/sweat/gut 200mg
Loss during delivery 150-200mg
Lactation 150-200mg

Diagnosis

It is confirmed on the following blood levels -

Decreased serum iron and ferritin

Increased serum transferrin

i hace low iron and low blood pressure my iron level is 7 percent i have had numbness and tingles in my fingers and hands and arms neck mouth nose ears and head and vibrations and sore tounge and funny vision in my left eye and dizzyness and feeling light and faint can you help me my email is violet1964@hotmail.co.uk and my number is 07783465668 all help is welcome as its very scary and i am worried as its like eletric tingles and numbness and brething issues often
