The common indications of alcoholism / alcohol abuse include -  Having a drink in secrecy or alone, hiding it in unusual places. Inability to control the amount being consumed. Having frequent ‘blackouts’, not being able to remember conversations, commitments, or actions that took place under its influence. Activities that were fun earlier no longer seeming so. Trying to find excuses for the compulsive drinking. Unnecessary irritation as the supposed time for drinking approaches, or if there is non-availability of alcohol. Tendency to drink for experiencing feelings of being normal, or to ‘feel good’. Increase in the tolerance of the amount of drinks consumed. Experiencing physical withdrawal symptoms when not having a drink, like-
