What are the Risks of Small Intestine Biopsy?

Complications from this procedure are rare, but can include :
  • Bleeding (hemorrhage).
  • Bacterial infection with fever and pain .
  • Bowel puncture (perforation). 
  • The patient should immediately report any abdominal pain or bleeding to the physician in charge.
