Text
|
While not all diabetics develop diabetic retinopathy, approximately 90 percent of juvenile onset diabetics (aged 30 or under) and 25 percent of adult onset diabetics (over age 30) will develop diabetic retinopathy after having diabetes for 20 years. Hence patient education and cooperation is a must in order to delay the onset of symptoms of diabetic retinopathy in diabetics through proper blood glucose control and regular eye check up.
