The Magic Feeling of Being A Mother-Cervical Mucus

Cervical Mucus

When vaginal mucus appears fertility begins. Soon after the menstruation ends, check for your mucus. When your mucus is sticky, creamy and like egg white that is the time when your fertility is at its highest. This is the right time to try for conception. Sperm can survive on more fertile mucus for as many as three days, so having intercourse on such days is crucial if you are planning for a baby. You can check your cervical mucus with your fingers after washing them thoroughly with a disinfectant or use toilet paper to check for cervical mucus.

Fertile period ends on the fourth day when the mucus becomes dry. A woman, who has five days of very fertile cervical fluid in her twenties, will have very less in her thirties. In her forties ovulation may completely come to an end even though she may be having regular periods. “Drink lots of water and avoid antihistamines and cough and cold medicines that dry up mucus membranes to increase your body’s ability to produce wet cervical fluid,” says Tony Wescheler, author of Taking Charge of Your Fertility.
