Most people working abroad are Health Insurance covered by their companies, but if their families back home in India may not get coverage under their employment terms. Their families need Health Insurance protection as well.

STAR Health offers Star NRI All Care, to insure the health of family members of Non-Resident Indians. Star NRI All Care provides for financial help and assistance, should a medical emergency arise.

NRI All Care Benefits

  • Hospitalization Cover - This would cover the insured person for in-patient hospitalization expenses provided the insured person is hospitalized for a minimum of 24 hours. These expenses include room rent up to a maximum of Rs.1000 per day.
  • Boarding and nursing expenses.
  • Surgeon’s fees, Consultant’s fees, Anesthetist's fees.
  • Cost of blood, oxygen, diagnostic expenses, cost of pace makers artificial limbs etc
  • Cost of medicines and drugs

Is cover offered for Out-Patient services also?

Yes. But such services are made available at Company’s cost. However cost of diagnostic tests at labs, if any, and cost of medicines will have to be borne by the Insured Person

What are the sum insured options available?

  • The insurance is available for sum insured of Rs.1,00,000, Rs.2,00,000, Rs.3,00,000, Rs.4,00,000 and Rs.5,00,000
  • The sum insured floats among all the family members covered under the insurance

Can the Insured Person take treatment in hospitals other than the named ones?

Yes. However if the Insured person chooses to take treatment in other hospitals that are not part of the network hospitals of the Company, then the company’s liability will be limited to 50% of the final admissible claim subject to the maximum of 50% of the sum insured.

How to make a claim under the policy?

  • Call the 24 hour help-line for assistance
  • Inform the ID number for easy reference
  • In case of planned hospitalization inform 24 hours prior to admission in the hospital
  • In case of emergency hospitalization information to be given within 24 hours after hospitalization
  • Cashless facility can be availed in all network hospitals
  • In non-network hospitals payment must be made up-front and then reimbursement will be effected on submission of documents

Exclusions

  • Expense incurred in the first two Years of continuous operation of Insurance cover on treatment Cataract, Hysterectomy for Menorrhagia or Fibromyoma, knee replacement surgery (other than caused by an accident) Joint Replacement. Surgery (other than caused by an accident), Prolapse of inter-vertebral disc (other than caused by accident), Varicose veins and Varicose ulcers, Cardio-Vascular Diseases, Cancer and Renal complications
  • Expense incurred during the first year of operation of the Insurance on treatment of diseases such as Benign Prostate Hypertrophy, Hernia, Hydrocele, Fistula in anus, Piles, Sinusitis and related disorders, gallstones and renal stone removal
  • Naturopathy treatment
  • Expenses which are purely diagnostic in nature with no positive existence of any disease
  • Expenses incurred for treatment of diseases/illness/accidental injuries by systems of medicines other than Allopathic
  • Expenses which are cosmetic in nature Eligibility
  • The Non-Resident Indian covering his/her family member aged 5 months and above can be covered provided
  • Family member means spouse, children and parents of the Non-Resident Indian
  • The insurance is to be purchased by the proposer namely the NRI
