A few interesting facts
1 It is recommended that 50 to 60% of your calories come from carbohydrates, 20% from proteins and 15 to 20% from fat.
2 Due to the biological changes in the body, adolescents' caloric requirements are high.
3 Expectant mothers require 300 calories extra per day.
4Lactating mothers initially require 550 cals/d and later require 400 cals/d.
5Calorie requirements of an individual can be calculated with the Harris-Benedict formula and Katch-McArdle formula.
