Information on Blood Donation

You and your family members are welcome to submit their names and blood type details on this page. This is a service that could, one day, benefit or save the life of someone  anywhere in the world.

Please do not submit your name if any of the following International Red Cross guidelines apply to you.

  1. History of hepatitis.
  2. Currently taking hypertension medication.
  3. Blood pressure reading of less than 120/80.
  4. Under 18 years old.
  5. Weight less than 110 pounds.

Blood is tested for HIV 1 and 2, hepatitis B and C, and syphilis before being used by the blood bank for distribution. Tests for other infectious diseases are carried out if the blood is to be used by at risk patients  (for example blood used for young infants or transplant patients is tested for cytomegalovirus).
