1. Where did HIV come from? Scientists have different theories about the origin of HIV, but none have been proven. The earliest known case of HIV was from a blood sample collected in 1959 from a man in Kinshasha, Democratic Republic of Congo. 2. How does HIV cause AIDS? HIV destroys CD4+ T cells (helper cells) which are crucial to the normal function of the human immune system. 3. How long does it take for HIV to cause AIDS? Scientists have estimated that about half the people with HIV develop AIDS within 10 years after becoming infected. But the time period greatly varies from person to person. 4. Can people assume responsibility in preventing HIV infection? Both men and women share the responsibility for avoiding behavior that might lead to HIV infection. |

Post-test yes IS helpful, if he wishes. 4.Clinical assessment is enuf. No, wait for the CD4. Dont wait for the CD4. start Rx asap. no, wait till some synptom shows./// you see how we are led / dazed ?// Recently i had a case with CD4 1200 till death, but downhill sinking for 8 months, and the HAART Center refuses, goes by the set guidelines, and not by the clinical deterioration !!!

Posted on: 11/03/2009 maartsi,you are quite right. BUT ! HIV morphs/mutates everynow and then.research findings keep on cropping up to confuse or help. Simple person GOD has no universal name, and half the diseases are not yet fully understood, example Diabetes Mellitus course and complications.so we live and let live amidst all the conflicts. |

Posted on: 12/03/2008 instead of making matters worse i think people should just go get tested. we don't need an infection every 15minutes.but hey everyone is different.me personally i know if i was doing stuff i would wanna get tested before and after intercourse.!!
