General Info about Vitamin-F

It is now a largely known fact that vitamins and minerals play a vital role in our quest for health. Their significance and utility is so crucial that they are now an indispensable part of our lives. Day by day people are turning "Fruitarians"- people who eat fruits as their staple diet, in raw form to gain the maximum vitamins from them. Our knowledge of vitamins is limited to the widely known categories viz Water soluble (Vitamin C and B group) and the Fat soluble vitamins (Vitamins A, D, E and K).

Therefore for the enhancement of your knowledge bank, I decided to discuss about the importance of another class of vitamin, i.e., Vitamin F. Now this is something that few people know about, albeit its contributions to our health cannot be ruled out. This class of vitamins is often referred to as "Essential Fatty Acids". Just wait a second, it doesn't add those extra kilos to your frame,

so you don’t have to stop reading!!! After reading on you are sure to realize its worth and incorporate it into your daily diets..

Vitamin F, essential fatty acids are composed of two fatty acids - linoleic acid (LA) and alpha-linoleic acid (LNA) - with linoleic acid being the most complete fatty acid. There are two basic categories of EFA's (essential fatty acids) - omega-3 and omega-6, which include linoleic acid and gamma-linoleic acid. The body is not capable of manufacturing essential fatty acids, while the fatty acid arachidonic acid can be synthesized in the body from linoleic acid.
