  What are Gastric Problems?

  • Occurs in stomach / oesophagus

  • Disturbance of gastric mucosa leads to acid secretion 

  • Acids contact stomach nerve endings

  • Causes pain / discomfort

 Types

  • May be acute / chronic

  • Acute gastric problem reduces quickly

  • Chronic gastric problems lead to ulcers

Causes 

  • Physical and mental stress can also cause ulceration.

  • Causes of gastric mucosa inflammation:
    a. Acidic foods
    b. Alcohol
    c. Smoking
    d. Stress
    e. Drugs 

Drugs which causes gastric trouble

  • Aspirin

  • Nicotine

  • Corticosteroids

  • Erythromycin

  • Beta- Blockers

 Symptoms

  • Constant Pain 

  • Indigestion 

  • Nausea

  • Vomiting

  • Loss of appetite

  • Diarrhea 

Avoid 

  • Hot Spicy foods

  • Alcohol 

  • Smoking 

  • Excessive eating 

  • Large meals before bed 

  • Fatty food

  • Pulse 

  • Late nights


Treatment

  • Acute problems resolve spontaneously 

  • Chronic problems should be treated

  • Drugs for treatment include:
    a. Antacids 
    b. H2 antagonists 
    c. Proton pump inhibitors

  • Timely meals releives pain due to ulcers

  • Consult - Gastroenterologist.

dear sir i am suffering problem since 4 yaers,reflux and hertburn,pain,weakness, indigation please suggest me what to do i have taken many tablets but result the same plese help me

my husband is suffering from gastric problem. the only problem is farting(loudly).he dint has any pain or something like that.before 1year he worked night shifts for 4 years.now his shift changed to day shift (since last 1 year).... please help me...

Dear Sir, I have been having gastric problems for the past four months. I don’t know if things have gotten better or worse but it seems that I am not been able to vomit, sleep and eat like before. Something from inside seems to be blocking the vomit. I do get painful jerks in the chest but it remains in the stomach. Recently I have been feeling weak around my shoulders and chest area and get a feeling of not wanting to do anything. I even do not get a proper tiring sleep and hungry like before. Let me know if there is any cure for this problem.

i have gas problem which pushes air up and makes me difficult to breath while sleeping it is very difficult to sleep and also it instigates high palpitation and BP goes high. Any solution?

i am having gastric problem. this started just 2 weeks back. one day i had food in some hotel and got up. immediately i felt something from below pushing my heart. i could feel it. my body became very hot and i was very afraid. then i consulted a doc and he gae me digestive tab but did not help at all. then pharma near my house gave me gas subsiding tab. i took and imm had effect. but after that also it is persisting. i went to a ayurvedic doc, he gave pomogranut juice and asked me to consume till the bottle lasts. but if i drink that always i feel hungry. so i am literally confused. can any one help me out. let it be as early as possible bcoz this should not lead to any ulcer as i am a single parent and nobody to look after my kid.

I am having gastic problem.i was once very sick due to this but that time it was cured but now it causes different problems like indigetion,stomach pain.So please guide me how to cure this.

l've feeling this pain for two weeks now about gastic.l cant eat,l cant sleep.l feel like vomiting but can't vomit just like my brething has stop.so please get information about how i can getride of this

I feel pain even after having a meal,continuosly every day,stop for a while when i pressed in the middle of my stomach and then start again.I cant sleep at night,no vomiting.I've tried taking Magnesium Trisalate,next day start again.For almost 2 months now.Pls help...
