  What are Gastric Problems?

  • Occurs in stomach / oesophagus

  • Disturbance of gastric mucosa leads to acid secretion 

  • Acids contact stomach nerve endings

  • Causes pain / discomfort

 Types

  • May be acute / chronic

  • Acute gastric problem reduces quickly

  • Chronic gastric problems lead to ulcers

Causes 

  • Physical and mental stress can also cause ulceration.

  • Causes of gastric mucosa inflammation:
    a. Acidic foods
    b. Alcohol
    c. Smoking
    d. Stress
    e. Drugs 

Drugs which causes gastric trouble

  • Aspirin

  • Nicotine

  • Corticosteroids

  • Erythromycin

  • Beta- Blockers

 Symptoms

  • Constant Pain 

  • Indigestion 

  • Nausea

  • Vomiting

  • Loss of appetite

  • Diarrhea 

Avoid 

  • Hot Spicy foods

  • Alcohol 

  • Smoking 

  • Excessive eating 

  • Large meals before bed 

  • Fatty food

  • Pulse 

  • Late nights


Treatment

  • Acute problems resolve spontaneously 

  • Chronic problems should be treated

  • Drugs for treatment include:
    a. Antacids 
    b. H2 antagonists 
    c. Proton pump inhibitors

  • Timely meals releives pain due to ulcers

  • Consult - Gastroenterologist.

abdominal distension after walking with or without food. I am diabetic and taking metphormin.

I have chronic gas problem; it moves from left side of abdomen and to the chest; get a feeling as if something is gripping my heart and some time feel a chest pain. Even some time feel headache, stomach pain. Motion is very hard.
At the moment i am using medicine for high blood pressure and asthma. For gas; using omiprazol, some time use pantaprozol but not getting relief. Kindly advise

Sir,when i attack of gastric,i feel pain in my chest and my stomach become hot. give me suggestion to remove it.i take many medicine for asthma before.

dear sir
i was having pneumothorax a month back and cured by ICD.
for last one month i am regularly suffering from Gas problem after treatment of Pneumothorax
always worried whether i am again suffering from Pneumothorax

Dear Sir, I am from suffering gastric problem since long time. Now my main problem is always spitting and need to eat more more foods always feeling hungry. Al so my stomach is large. Pls let me know how to control this.
