Glossary

Gonadotropin: They are hormones released by the pituitary gland. These hormones have an action effect on the testes and ovaries thereby stimulating the sex hormones.

Menarche: The onset of the first cycle of menstruation in girls during puberty.

Pituitary gland: It is a tiny, pea-sized gland at the base of the brain. It is known as the “master gland.” It produces hormones and stimulates the production of other hormones.

Scrotum: It is a part of the external male genitalia and has a role in reproduction.
