Zimbabwean Among the Latest 3 Swine Flu Victims in Hyderabad
Reports say that the overall swine flu death toll this season in Telangana has reached 39, with the latest victims being a 36-year-old Zimbabwean woman and one eight-month-old boy at Gandhi Hospital Hyderabad.
The deceased woman from Zimbabwe was admitted to Gandhi Hospital with typical symptoms of swine flu on January 19.

She was in the capital city for training at the National Institute of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprise (NISIET), Yousufguda. “She had showed signs of recovery after the initial anti-viral treatment, but died suddenly,” Doctors said.

According to sources, Gandhi Hospital now has over 20 swine flu patients, and five H1N1 positive children.

Two More Suspected Patients Admitted

Two more suspected swine flu cases were admitted to the King George Hospital (KGH) in Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh on Wednesday.

Giving details of the suspected swine flu patients admitted at KGH, its medical superintendent Dr M Madhusudana Babu said, "A six-year-old girl from Srikakulam has been admitted in the hospotal, while the 36-weeks pregnant woman suspected of suffering from H1N1 is undergoing treatment at the isolation ward. They are both stable."

Meanwhile, the Indian health minister, JP Nadda, discussed the situation with health officials from different departments in the states, said that the current H1N1 influenza cases were seasonal, and will disappear after winter.

The state has advised citizens to take precautions such as reporting to the hospital on the first symptoms of swine flu like high fever, sneezing, cough and body pains. The bulletin said adequate stock of medicines is available at all teaching hospitals, district hospitals and area hospitals.
