World Brain Day 2015: Observed to Create Global Awareness for Epilepsy
The World Federation of Neurology (WFN) declared June 22 to be the World Brain Day. WFN in collaboration with International League Against Epilepsy (ILAE) and the International Bureau for Epilepsy (IBE) together with the World Health Organization (WHO) is concentrating on Epilepsy this year.
Epilepsy is a neurological disease. It is most common chronic disease of the brain.

“There is no health without brain health. Our brain is our most amazing and complex organ and its functioning is most closely linked to the health of the whole human being," said Dr Chandrashekhar Meshram, past president of Indian Academy of Neurology and member of constitution committee of WFN.

In Nagpur, a campaign is being held in collaboration with Nagpur Neuro Society, Indian Epilepsy Association (Nagpur Branch), Indian Psychiatric Society (Nagpur and Vidarbha Branch), Academy of Medical Sciences, Nagpur, Nagpur Union of Working Journalists and Basoli group.

Many organizations have prepared for activities like awareness walk, public gatherings, epilepsy camps and other activities for those with epilepsy and their caregivers.

On July 26, drawing competition for children at 12.30pm at Cisfa ki Chhoti Gallery, Laxminagar, will be held along with various awareness programs in schools.
