Women Rank Higher On Happiness Meter Than Men

by Tanya Thomas on Apr 14 2010 12:36 PM

A study has concluded that women enjoy better quality of life and balance between work and pleasure when compared to men.

More than one in three women ranked their general happiness as eight out of 10 or higher, compared with just over one in four men, First Direct bank, which commissioned the poll of 4,423 adults, found.

The study also revealed the happiest women are married - or retired, reports The Daily Express.

Natalie Cowen, of First Direct bank, said: "It is evident that gender difference plays a huge part in how satisfied we are.

"Some of today's little life pleasures are helping women love life at the moment, such as watching their favourite television show, music and their pets."
