In wake of the rising cases of dengue, Delhi Women and Child Welfare Minister Sandeep Kumar has hit out at the city's BJP MPs and doctors. He later expressed regrets for hurting anybody.
Seen attacking doctors in a video released on Saturday of his rally, the Aam Aadmi Party leader said: "They (doctors) don't have the courage to say no to the dengue patients. We will terminate them, jail them and cancel their license if they do so."
AdvertisementKumar, who represents Sultanpur Majra assembly constituency, also used unparliamentary language for Delhi's Lt.Governor Najeeb Jung and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MPs from the city.
"At the time of dengue where is LG Najeeb Jung who says Delhi is mine? Where are all the seven MPs of Delhi? They are having 'rangraliyan' (enjoying a colorful life) abroad," alleged Kumar, adding the leaders were not paying attention to the sad state of affairs in the national capital due to spread of dengue.
But later, the minister expressed regrets over his remarks and extended his apology to anyone who felt hurt.
"It was not my intention to hurt anyone. I apologize if anyone felt bad or was hurt with my words," he said, adding that it was everyone's responsibility including Delhi MPs to work together in fighting dengue.
