A new thinking about the increased alcohol consumption blames the cause on the bottle size of the wine too.
The British Medical Journal has proposed a new theory to encourage safe drinking. They say, ‘small is safe’. Reducing the size of wine bottle can bring a big change to curb the alcohol addiction.They further urge the alcohol industry to discourage boozing by replacing the supersized bottles with small ones.
Dr Trish Groves, deputy editor of the British Medical Journal is all optimistic that the drinking trend of middle class can be easily tackled with this new change.
She further says: "I like a glass of good wine with my supper. But, once two of us have had a glass each, it's all too tempting to finish the bottle there and then. Coupled with the news that wine is getting stronger, it's no wonder Britain's middle-aged middle classes are getting wasted. Why does wine have to come in 75cl bottles?"
"Banning supersize meal portions may help to cut obesity rates. Tax hikes, fewer happy hours, and better education may help to cut harmful drinking.
"But where's the debate on supersize portions of wine? Why does wine have to come in 75cl bottles? She argues.
