What Are The Common Misconceptions That We Have About ADHD?
Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), is a developmental neuro-psychiatric disorder which has significant problems associated with executive functions like attention control and inhibitory control that cause attention deficits, hyperactivity, or impulsiveness which is not appropriate for a person’s age. The symptoms begin by age of six to twelve and persist for more than six months for a diagnosis to be made. //
Many people have various thoughts when they think of a person with Attention-Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder. The misconceptions to downplay the seriousness of the disorder get stigmatized as a result of these myths.

ADHD is not a childhood disorder. It is widely prevalent in teenagers and adults as well. The symptoms include forgetfulness, difficulty in organising tasks. ADHD lingers when you grow up and creates conflict in an individual’s everyday life.

ADHD is a disorder just like any other. It may not have a single treatment or method of diagnosis, but that does not make it any less of a real impairment.

Bad parenting is closely associated with ADHD and is not thought of as a disorder by many. The logic behind the compulsive behavior of a child is poor discipline. Rather, it is a medical condition, which needs close attention and treatment for behavior modification.

In school-aged individuals inattention symptoms often result in poor school performance. Although it causes impairment, particularly in modern society, many children with ADHD have a good attention span for tasks they find interesting.
