Violent Video Games Increase Aggression in Kids
Not all video games are bad after a new study found that playing violent video games tend to increase aggression levels in children while non-violent video games have no effect.
The study was conducted by researchers at Ohio State University who recruited around 70 French university students, some of whom were asked to play violent video games while the others were given non-violent games and were asked to play for 20 minutes every day for three days.

The researchers found that those who played violent video games displayed aggressive behavior and expected others to behave aggressively towards them as well.

“It’s important to know the long-term causal effects of violent videogames, because so many young people regularly play these games. Repeated exposure to violent videogames may have a cumulative effect on aggression. People who have a steady diet of these games may come to see the world as a hostile place. That may make them more defensive and more likely to respond with aggression themselves”, lead researcher Professor Brad Bushman said.
