Close on the heels of a recruitment scam in the Health Department of the MCD, nearly 180 employees who had sought dubious means to secure a job, were under the axe.
The Health Department of MCD has sacked 180 class IV employees because they had apparently used fraudulent methods to secure jobs, like resorting to forgery and other nefarious means. It was observed that the sacked employees have secured jobs in the permanent category after teaming up with the MCD employees.Additional Commissioner (Health) Manoj Parida said, "The matter is being further investigated and more such cases of fake appointment are likely to surface” The investigations are on in full swing and as they come to light, more people will face the cutting edge of losing their jobs.
There are also parallel efforts in process to prosecute the fraudulent employees after recovering the payments made to them. An FIR has been registered and police have begun the investigations.
