Pramod Mahajan the senior and popular BJP leader is languishing in the ICU of Hinduja Hospital in Mumbai; fighting for his life now for five days. The big question which is in back of everyone’s mind is - if he is going to make it.

Mr.Mahajan continues to be critical despite some reduction in the drugs that are maintaining his blood pressure. Earlier Medindia has published a special report on his bullet injuries indicating the odds against him.

Dr Anupam Verma the Hospital Director said today ''Mahajan's condition has almost been the same since last night. He has however tolerated very slight reduction in requirement of medication to maintain his BP.'' ''His condition continues to remain critical and stable,'' he added.

Mr Mahajan a diabetic is on ventilator support for his lungs. However what is worrying is that his kidneys are functioning poorly and he is requiring dialysis support. The best possible care is being given by team of surgeons and intensivists with support from doctors from abroad.

It is possible that Mr.Mahajan may need a third surgery soon. His pancreas is also injured and this may be giving problems too. Initially it was the liver that kept bleeding and had to be packed with cotton.

Mr. Mahajan was shot at close range by his younger brother on Saturday morning by his younger brother Pravin at his Worli flat in Mumbai. .
