UCI Liver Program jinxed with 4 more lawsuits

University of California was slapped with four additional law suits, after the Liver Transplant Program of the UCI Medical center had failed miserably.

Orange county Superior court has been a witness to three claims filed by the families of patients who died just waiting for the transplants; the fourth, a patient who never received a liver.

The liver transplant program transparent to gross mismanagement has to also battle the 50 plus lawsuits that have been filed.

UCI was prompted to close the program in November soon after The Times reported that 32 patients died while waiting for transplants. At this time the UCI had also refused many livers that were worthy of transplant, because of paucity of surgeons to perform the transplant operation.
