Antidepressant drugs interacts with Immune cells
Serotonin drugs which were found to be an effective anti-depressant is also found to interact with immune cells but the researchers are not sure about the mechanism of serotonin inhibitors on human health.

Assistant Professor Gerard Aherm and team from Georgetown University Medical center have found that SSRI (Selective Serotonin Reuptake Inhibitors) which has been found to be an effective antidepressant by passing between the neurons leading to pleasant feeling and eases depression by moving through the synaptic spaces of neurons. Researchers have found that these anti-depressant in the same way they work with brain cells also interacts with immune cells by a physical contact by activating the dendrite cells to increase its memory against a particular antigen by which it produces immediately T cells which is responsible for producing immune cells against the antigen or infecting organism. The researchers are trying out to find the mechanism of how these antidepressant drugs interact with immune cells.
