Chinese ministry of health reports that infectious diseases in China has comparable reduced over the years due to intense prevention and eradication programs organized by the Chinese government but, feels that though disease control has reduced in the urban population still there is a threat for infectious diseases in rural population due to inaccessible to treatment and malnutrition. China has seen a drop in air borne infections caused by Corynebacterium diptheriae (diphtheria), Bortdella pertussis (Whooping cough), Japanese encephalitis (Viral fever), bacteria causing meningitis and has totally eradicated Polio virus (Poliomyelitis).

Chinese officials feel that the decrease in disease eradication was made possible by forming a network between major hospitals and local hospitals and health centers which helped to share diseases statistics and treatment strategies leading to decrease in infectious diseases. Health officials feel that still lot has to be done in complete eradication of communicable infectious diseases which requires planning and standardizing treatment protocols and effective drugs.
