Professor Joel Brind, Baruch College has reported in his recent article that having induced abortions does not increase risk of breast cancer . Dr. Brind has compiled data from recent studies of breast cancer and reported his article in the Journal of American Physicians and Surgeons.

Professor Brind, agrees with earlier reports of articles reported in The Lancet, that pregnancies leading to miscarriage or induced abortions does not increase the risk of developing breast cancer and even the U.S. National Cancer Institute (NCI) has reported that there is no correlated link between pregnancy, abortion and breast cancer. Brind does not agree data, which has shown links between induced abortions and breast cancer and feels that these data may be based on a biased literature survey and would have been a result of a shorter follow up time.
