Bird flu virus infection has caused the death of a 5 year old boy in Thailand which has raised the toll to 70 in Asia. The boy is not found to be in direct contact with chickens, but the officials feel that he would have contacted the virus from the neighboring poultry.

The latest good news to ease bird flu fear has come from the Roche Pharmaceuticals which has the patent for Tamiflu drug has given permission to manufacturers to produce generic version of Tamiflu, which would help the economically weaker countries to produce affordable bird flu drugs.
